MRIS Debuts Wireless Listing Access

Metropolitan Regional Information Systems, Inc. (MRIS®) customers can now search the entire MRIS active listing database from handheld electronic devices such as cell phones, Blackberries² and Palm® devices.

The service, called MRIS WalkAbout is a web-based search engine that allows real estate professionals to conduct property searches using devices with wireless Internet access. MRIS WalkAbout is free to MRIS customers. Searches are conducted in real-time against the live MRIS database. The service helps improve the information flow real estate professionals have with homebuyers and home sellers.

"This is an important new productivity tool for real estate professionals, " said David Charron, MRIS Chief Executive Officer. "We are happy to offer this service to our customers at no additional charge. Our customers can use MRIS WalkAbout to keep up with market changes and ensure they receive fast, reliable data on properties for sale."

Property searches can be done using MLS numbers or addresses. They can also be conducted using specific criteria including number of bedrooms and bathrooms, list price and zip code. Searches can be done anywhere!

MRIS WalkAbout is offered in conjunction with OceanLake, Inc, a provider of mobile Internet-enabling software. For more information on Oceanlake, visit http://www.oceanlake.com.
